    Marathon 3DL

Exceptionally fast, amazingly light, incredibly tough...North's Marathon 3DL® product is the world's most advanced cruising sail. Inside is a 3DL fiber matrix designed specifically for cruising. Outside, North's rugged TF taffeta/films provide exceptional protection to chafe, tear and UV degradation. For those who relish achievement, performance and the security of speed, this is the ultimate cruising sail.

"We noticed a huge difference when we put up the Marathon sails. We could point 5 - 10 degress higher and the boat was sailing faster. We've also spent a lot of time sailing with the jib partially furled in winds over 30 knots, and the shape still looks exactly like it did the first day. We're very impressed."

    Marathon 3DL Technical Features:

    • Tough North TF™ taffeta/film bonded to both sides of 3DL matrix provide exceptional chafe, tear and UV resistance.
    • Supplementary UV protectant is redoubled in TF film and adhered to each individual fiber.
    • Fungicide added to TF taffeta/film retards mildew formation.
    • Marathon Yarn structure is comprised of specially coated standard modulus yarn for an ideal combination of light weight, low stretch and resistence to degradation from flex and UV exposure.
    • Tough North TF™ taffeta/film bonded to both sides of 3DL matrix provide exceptional chafe, tear and UV resistance.
    • New 3DL "multi-phase" bonding technology ensures long term integrity or laminate while reducing bond-induced stress on internal fibers during flex (especially beneficial for furling headsails.
