    Peter Isler

    Peter Isler



    Peter Isler has been involved in every America's Cup since winning it as navigator aboard Dennis Conner's  Stars & Stripes in Australia in 1987. He sailed in his fifth Cup campaign serving as navigator for the BMW Oracle Racing Team.  His four previous campaigns were all in the afterguard aboard Stars & Stripes ('87, '88, '00 & '03) winning it twice ('87 & '88).  He took a break from sailing and served as analyst for ESPN's Emmy Award winning coverage of the America's Cup in '92 & '95.  In Auckland, 2002-2003, Peter did both - sailing with Stars & Stripes and then, once the team was eliminated - he served as analyst for Outdoor Life Network's coverage of the racing. In 2007, he joined the VERSUS network's America's Cup team in covering the America's Cup. A former Collegiate Sailor of the Year at Yale University, Isler resides in Southern California.  He co-authored the best-selling book, Sailing for Dummies (Wiley) and wrote a business book, At the Helm: Business Lessons for Navigating Rough Waters (Doubleday) with Peter Economy. He is president of Isler Sailing International, Inc. a sports marketing and television production company.  When at home in San Diego, Peter enjoys time with his two daughters and playing piano and guitar in the "Water Brothers" band.    Â
