North 505 Sails
Introduction
The 505 is a powerful high performance dinghy and as such requires a versatile sail plan to ensure that the boat is manageable through the wind range. With the use of radial and cross cut panel layouts and carefully selected cloth, the latest sails offer stable shape flying shapes that respond well to the sail controls to provide optimum performance in all conditions. Former World Champion, 2008 European Champion and multi-time North American Champion Ethan Bixby has been leading the development.
Mainsail (M10-3DL) New for 2010
This is an all purpose mainsail built to the tried and tested M10 design. The sail is built using our 3DL technology. A 3DL sail stretches less for it's weight, holds it's design shape over a wider wind range and retains it's designed shape longer than conventionally built sails. This is the ultimate 505 mainsail.

Jib (J14)
This sail is a combination of tweaks to our successful line of AP jibs. Part of it's success has been the draft forward shape, with an easy to steer to entry. These jibs have a huge window panel giving you an unprecedented view of what’s coming - just the area you need to see. Above the window, we use narrow panels to give you the fairest shape possible. It takes a little longer to build, but there are no sudden changes of curvature at the seams as with a wide panel jib.

Spinnaker (V8)
Our all purpose spinnaker offers maximum projected area downwind while still remaining manageable on the reach. The V8 is a really fast spinnaker that has sealed many race wins. Our spinnakers are unique in the market as we take the care to use narrow panel widths throughout to ensure a fair shape. This takes a little more cloth and time, but we know the smoother shape gives us a faster sail. Also for 2010 we are using a very short radial head to further smooth that area.
